Clean Beaches
Remove trash from our beaches, record data on the types and amount of debris collected, influence policy and increase awareness of how humans impact our shared environment.
Your organization, business, school, or community group can take action and help keep our beaches clean.
Adopt-A-Beach groups are trained by Save Our Shores to conduct their own cleanups at their adopted site throughout the year. Groups are requested to conduct at least 3 cleanups at their site per year. Save Our Shores will support your groups cleanups by providing supplies, group leader training, and any necessary permitting with the appropriate jurisdiction.

Santa Cruz County
All Santa Cruz beaches are adoptable
Save Our Shores manages the Adopt-A-Beach program for City and State Beaches only, if you are interested in adopting a County beach site please contact Santa Cruz County Parks.
Monterey County
All Monterey beaches are adoptable
Save Our Shores manages the Adopt-A-Beach program for all City, County, and State Beaches. Some sites have restrictions on when cleanups can take place due to snowy plover nesting season.
