Sanctuary Stewards are the core volunteer force of Save Our Shores. They are the heart of all of our work around Monterey Bay. If you’re looking for a closer connection to your community and environment, the Steward program is for you.
Sanctuary Stewards make school presentations, lead beach cleanups, participate in community events, and work on all sorts of special projects, from making costumes to data entry. Email volunteer(at)saveourshores.org for more information. Check our calendar for the next Sanctuary Steward Crash Course.

If walking or paddling around the docks and preventing small oil spills sounds like your style, the Dockwalker team is right for you! Dockwalkers empower boaters to boat responsibly by offering information and supplies for proper disposal of oil and hazardous materials. Short training sessions are held the day of each event.
Dockwalkers work in Pillar Point (Half Moon Bay), Santa Cruz, Moss Landing, and Monterey harbors throughout the summer months. A typical Dockwalker shift is three to four hours. Contact matt(at)saveourshores.org or call 831-462-5660 ext. 5.
