Important Dates and Fundraising Minimums:

1Marathon Entry: $2500 fundraising minimum

A credit card hold is required to hold your spot in the case that you do not meet the fundraising minimums as outlined above.

2 Fundraising Minimum is required to be met by April 19, 2026

3Credit Cards will be charged for any fundraising remaining balance on April 20, 2026

About Us

Save Our Shores (SOS) is a small but mighty grassroots nonprofit dedicated to protecting our ocean and coastline. We started in response to the threat of offshore oil drilling along the Central Coast and played a key role in the creation of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary .Today, we:

Teach marine science to youth
Engage communities in hands-on stewardship
Lead outreach to reduce pollution
Advocate for policies that protect our coasts and communities

Our vision

A resilient coastline supported by the responsible action of an engaged, connected community. In 2024, our staff and volunteers removed 16,727 pounds of debris from the Central California Coast — a record-breaking accomplishment that highlights the urgent need for this work.
