What We Do

From policy change to educational programs and cleanups to speaker series, Save Our Shores is ensuring ocean conservation is actively occurring throughout the community. Our various programs and project are designed to boost clean shores, healthy habitats, and living waters in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.

Educational Programs

Save Our Shores offers classroom presentations and beach cleanup field trips for students in grades K-12. Classroom presentations offer an introduction to the coastal and marine environment, the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, and help students identify their connection to the coast. Santa Cruz City Middle- and High-School students can also opt for a presentation on plastics, litter, and waste prevention, co-developed by Save Our Shores and the City of Santa Cruz. All programs are free of charge, and bus funding may be available. To learn more or to schedule an educational program, contact education@saveourshores.org.
