Volunteer for Earth Day 2013!

Thank you to all of the volunteers who clean up the earth for Earth Day!

Save the Date for our Earth Day cleanups in conjunction with the Santa Cruz Earth Day Festival coming up on April 20, 2013.
Thank you to our 255 volunteers who prevented over 850 lbs. of pollution from trashing our Sanctuary for Earth Day 2012! A big thanks to our Supporters for making this possible. We hosted three beach cleanups and four San Lorenzo River cleanups, which included three Adopt-a-Levee cleanups with the City of Santa Curz. And with at least fifteen different school, civic, religious, and business groups participating.

Highlights from Earth Day 2011:
Thank you to the 300 volunteers who took action for Earth Day
in Santa Cruz, Monterey, and Half Moon Bay.
Last year,over2,400 pounds of pollution were removed from just two Earth Day cleanup sites with the help of nearly 200 community volunteers.
And can you believe over 2,700 cigarette butts were found during our Cowell/Main Beach Earth Day cleanup in two hours alone? Another 800 were removed at the San Lorenzo cleanup. Volunteers at both sites combined also prevented 400 plastic bags from entering our Sanctuary that day.
