Volunteer for Earth Day 2014!

Thank you to all of the volunteers who clean up the earth for Earth Day!

This year we had 316 volunteers who collected over 1,500 pounds of our beaches and out of our rivers, check out our blog post for more information.


Events:

Elkhorn Slough Cleanup:

Triple M Ranch in Elkhorn Slough, 10am-noon

Elkhorn Slough is one of Save Our Shores Top 10 Hotspots for 2014, yielding over 1,000 pounds of trash in single cleanups! We will need all of your help to keep it clean!
Volunteers will meet at the Triple M Ranch at 420 Hall Road in Las Lomas. All cleanup materials will be provided, groups are welcome.
The cleanup will be followed by a celebration potluck party from noon-2pm with raffle prizes, produce for purchase from local farmers. Be sure to bring something to share if you can.

Beach Cleanups:

Santa Cruz Beach Cleanup
Cowell/Main Beach from 9am-11am

Cowell and Main Beach are part of Save Our Shores Top 10 Hotspots for 2014! Come help us clean Santa Cruz's most popular beach. All cleanup materials will be provided, check-in table will be at the entrance to Cowell Beach by the Dream Inn Hotel. Whole Foods will be providing a free light breakfast to volunteers so make sure to bring your own plate, cup and utensils. They will also be raffling off an Eco Prize Basket to volunteers who participate!

Monterey Beach Cleanup
Del Monte Beach from 10am-Noon (Meet us in the parking lot of Wharf #2)

All materials provided, but please consider bringing your own
reusable buckets, gloves, bags, andwater bottles to help reduce
trash. Individuals and groups welcome.
We will also be having a free yoga class before the cleanup from 9am-10am from local instructor, Lindsay Jackson!

San Lorenzo River Cleanup:

Water Street Bridge in San Lorenzo Park, 9am-11am
Volunteers should meet at the Save Our Shores check in table at the Earth Day Festival Grounds at San Lorenzo Park near the Water Street Bridge.
All cleanup materials will be provided. Individuals and groups are welcome.
