Santa Cruz County kids care about the ocean and it critters.  Coastal Cleanup Day provides an opportunity for in class education about marine conservation and a hands on chance for your students to put their new knowledge to work! 

There are 2 ways to get your students involved:

1.      Host a Save Our Shores Marine Debris presentation in your classroom: Through hands-on activities students learn the importance of healthy ecosystems and how they can get actively involved in their community to prevent marine debris.

2.      Organize a school or beach cleanup on Friday, September 17^th 2010.  Teachers can organize their students to participate in Annual Coastal Cleanup Day by cleaning their school campus or nearby beach on the Friday before. All cleanup supplies will be provided by Save Our Shores.
