The Sanctuary Steward Volunteer Program is the citizen action arm of Save Our Shores. When individuals join SOS they become part of a dynamic team of motivated staff and volunteers dedicated to the stewardship of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Volunteers bring diversity of experience to our organization. They are the core of our education initiatives. Typical Sanctuary Steward activities include making school presentations, leading marine debris beach programs, hosting Sanctuary boat tours, spreading the word at community events such as Earth Day, or through developing personal initiatives in ocean protection.
