CEMEX sand mining is destroying our coastline. The “Monterey Bay holds the dubious distinction of being the only active beach sand mining operation along the entire United States shoreline. To make matters even worse, it all takes place along the shoreline of a protected National Marine Sanctuary” (Gary Griggs). We are gathering to build awareness, discuss solutions, and ultimately shutdown the mining operation forever. We encourage the entire community to get involved as our campaign to shutdown the CEMEX sand mining operation unfolds.
Donate to the campaign. Your donation will help us build coalitions, build community awareness, and help advocate on behalf of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary to finally put an end to the sand mine and its embedded economic, environmental, and social costs we all bare.
