Ocean Education Challenge… We did it!

Save Our Shores Ocean Education Field Trips

THANKS TO YOUR SUPPORT, we reached our $10,000 Ocean Education Challenge goal! The best news? Your donation to connect children to the ocean will go twice as far thanks to our generous supporter Roger Smith, who doubled all donations received through this challenge.

“We are grateful to have such a generous supporter as Roger, and for the commitment many of our donors make to ensure we deliver marine environmental education opportunities in underserved schools.”   -Katherine O’Dea, Executive Director

The $10,000 Ocean Education Challenge will introduce 2,000 students from the Pajaro Valley and North Monterey County Unified School Districts to the Watsonville Wetlands, Pajaro River, Elkhorn Slough, and local Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary beaches. These experiences are invaluable in fostering the next generation of ocean stewards, especially since many of the students have never been to the beach before.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to this challenge!
