Kim was a founding member of Save Our Shores in 1978 and served as the first Chairperson of the SOS Board. He returned to the Board in March 2007 after a 17 year hiatus. Kim is a resident of Aptos and owns Cypress Environmental and Land Use Planning which is engaged in both environmental impact assessment and land use planning for public agencies and private individuals. Kim is a Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) and holds a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning. He has worked in land use and environmental planning for 28 years. Kim is very experienced in public speaking, organizing events and technical writing. He is also Vice-president of Monterey Bay Chapter of the Association of Environmental Professionals. Kim is a NAUI certified scuba diver. Two of his other pastimes are kayaking and body surfing. An avid long distance runner, Kim’s running routes include Aptos area beaches at low tides.
